The Tiny Tones Program was established July 2016 by Melia Olson. Tiny Tones offers group music classes for children aged 0-5 years with their caregivers. The classes incorporate simple songs, instruments, dancing and actions/fingerplays to help children learn the basic elements of music. The goal of Tiny Tones is to introduce children to music through play and exploration and to instill a lifelong love of music in both the children and their families
Tiny Tones is currently offering 3 different classes: Teeny Tones, Tiny Tones and Tiny Ukuleles. Teeny Tones caters to newborn up to 18 month old children and incorporates one-on-one activities between parent and child. Tiny Tones, for newborn to 5 year old's, encourages children to actively participate in movement, dancing and group instrument play. Tiny Ukuleles is available for children 3 to 5 years old and functions as an introduction to learning an instrument. For more information on Tiny Tones classes visit the Classes page.
All of Tiny Tones classes are taught by Tiny Tones founder Melia Olson. Melia studied Classical Voice at Vancouver Island University for two years before transferring to the University of Victoria where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on Childhood Development.
Melia's two passions, music and children led her to open Tiny Tones in 2016 where she continues to share music with young children and their families.
